Every week it seems there is a new book or a new miracle cure for cellulite. All kinds of claims can be made because cellulite is not considered a medical condition. This is a mistake. It is a serious skin condition requiring treatment. Here for the first time the cause and treatment of cellulite is given in detail.

We have seen that the condition of miliaria profunda causes unnoticed blockages of the sweat ducts deep within the skin. As a result the sweat ducts rupture and sweat exudes into the surrounding skin, destroying adjacent skin capillaries which are essential for healthy skin.

The pools of sweat from the ruptured ducts form vacuoles in the lower border of the dermis. If an area of skin is then subjected to pressure, such as occurs on the sitting area of the rear thighs and the buttocks, then adipose tissue is forced through the connective tissue of the border to fill the vacuoles in the dermis.

This produces a characteristic dimpled effect. This is the exact cause of the condition known as cellulite, now explained for the first time.

Cellulite is less common elsewhere on the body, but it can occur anywhere where there is miliaria profunda, and where the subdermal connective tissue has previously been stretched. So cellulite may occur on areas of previous weight loss, for example.

The subdermal connective tissue of females has evolved differently from that in males, to allow for the stretching required for pregnancy. Thus cellulite is mainly a female condition. The connective tissue is firmer in males and so cellulite is much less prevalent, but can still occur where there is miliaria profunda and the skin has been previously stretched.

Until now cellulite has been treated as a cosmetic problem. Nobody goes to their physician with cellulite, if they go anywhere, they go to a beauty shop. Now that we can see that cellulite is an indication of a serious condition, miliaria profunda, immediate treatment is indicated.
